Letters: A Trip to the Past?
I've always wondered what it would be like to talk through letters. Excruciatingly slow? Or a lot of fun, keeping the mystery of what the next letter might bring?
In the era of social media apps, getting in contact with someone couldn't be made easier. We can send messages, pictures, voice recordings, and videos with ease.
What would happen if we decided to use letters in the same way we use these apps? Would we print out pictures and send them along? Record our videos on a cassette?
Imagine waiting a week for your letter to arrive, jittery with excitement and it only has one word on it, "okay".
The world would descend into chaos (a little exaggeration never hurt anybody). There are multiple ways this could play out, here's my variation: Everything would be a mess, to alert someone about a last-minute change in plans, would be next to impossible. Nobody would be able to go for long without having a quick chat with their best friend or their parents. Some might even lose their minds, waiting days for a letter to arrive.
In conclusion, the world definitely will descend into chaos.
But, letters do have a certain flair around them. When I think of letters I think of handmade paper with a lovely writing on them, sealed with a majestic stamp (obviously, not all letters come under this beautified version of a letter). Don't take this post as a pamphlet to the evils of a letter, they might be a slow means of communication, but if you can make it through the wait, keep writing!
Well versed thoughts... Freakishly well written!
